Good morning class 5!

Another snow day!

Remember to practise those times tables using the tricks I have taught you please.  Don’t forget to log on to the brilliant website and try out some of the games.

You also have your homework to do!!

Have fun,

Miss Clifton 🙂

Snow Day!!

Hi Class 5!  Here’s a really good Numeracy website to have a look at:

There are lots of interactive games to play, and the number area is particularly good for practising calculations of all 4 operations.
Today is a really good opportunity to practise any times tables you are less confident with.  Remember the tricks we learnt this week!
I would also like you to write a set of instructions, ready for our next DT lesson, detailing exactly how you intend to make your musical instruments.
Enjoy the snow – be careful!!!
Miss Clifton 🙂

Good work winners 7.12.12

Congratulations this week to Reece and Aron.

Reece has impressed me with his knowledge of converting fractions into decimals.  He can convert 1/4,  1/2,  1/10,  3/4,  1/3 and 1/5!

Well done Reece  🙂

Aron is a star pupil! He always has excellent behaviour and consistently produces work of a very high standard in ALL subjects.  Keep it up Aron! 🙂

Good Work winners!

Congratulations this week to Cameron and Cory.

Cameron has been working tremendously hard both at home and at school to improve his “telling the time” skills.  This effort is really starting to pay off .   Well done Cameron! :- )

Cory is putting in a greater effort with learning his weekly spellings, and his increasing marks are reflecting this extra work.  His vocabulary range within his writing is consequently improving too.   Keep it up Cory! 🙂

Harvey has worked particularly hard this week to improve his time knowledge. He has now mastered quarter past and quarter to. Well done Harvey, keep this up next week when we will be doing further work on time.

Hannah has been chosen for her amazing work plotting coordinates of shapes onto a one quadrant grid. Her work was beautifully presented too.

The Kitwell Choir performs ‘Edge of Glory’

The Kitwell Primary School took to the stage at Bartley Green Technology College on Tuesday 26th June 2012 to perform Lady Gaga’s ‘Edge of Glory’. The soloist was a very nervous little girl in Year 4. She was brilliant!

Tree Planting at Bluebell Woods

Jane (park ranger from Woodgate Valley Country Park) took our Year 5 children to Bluebell Woods to plant trees. Because our children were so good they were asked to stay longer and demonstrate expert tree planting skills to a group of visiting King Edward’s students.
