Good work winners 14.6.13

Congratulations this week to two worthy winners, Hannah and Bayleigh.

Hannah has really impressed me this week with a fabulous piece of writing about ‘pearl diving’ for our work on Stories from other cultures. 🙂

Bayleigh has made fantastic progress with her numeracy work this year, and improved greatly in confidence.  She performed brilliantly in our recent QCA test, achieving a level to be proud of.   🙂

Well done girls!

Friday 7th June 2013

I am so impressed with your creative talents Class 5; your Greek temple projects are incredible! Lots of effort and hard work have gone into making your models, and I hope lots of fun too.  A huge well done to you all.

I would also like to congratulate you all on your super numeracy results this week too.  I am delighted with the results.  Great work everyone 🙂

Snow day Monday 25th March 2013

Hi class 5!

Here’s some activities to have a look at whilst we are off school:

Maths zone has lots of great activities based on all areas of numeracy for you to select.  Try to challenge yourself to get better at something you find a little bit hard.

http://www.mathszone.co.uk

If you find fractions, decimals or division tricky, then this game ‘Hit the button’  is for you:

Literacy

This website has hundreds of poems.  Can you find any narrative poems to read?  You could even search the internet for some classic poems too.

I thought this website looked like fun! If you agree, have a go at designing your own comic book.  I look forward to reading your stories.

Remember to practise your times tables, learn your spellings and complete your homework too.  Today would also be a good opportunity for many of you to practise reading 24 hour time as well.

Enjoy the day – see you soon.

Miss Clifton   😉

Good work winners 22.3.13

To end our fabulous topic work on the Egyptians, we created our own sarcophagus models using paper pulp.  They were all so fantastic that the only option was to choose the whole class as good work winners this week.  Well done Class 5.

Photos of our masterpieces to follow soon….

Good morning class 5!

Another snow day!

Remember to practise those times tables using the tricks I have taught you please.  Don’t forget to log on to the brilliant website www.mathsisfun.com and try out some of the games.

You also have your homework to do!!

Have fun,

Miss Clifton 🙂

Snow Day!!

Hi Class 5!  Here’s a really good Numeracy website to have a look at: http://www.mathsisfun.com/

There are lots of interactive games to play, and the number area is particularly good for practising calculations of all 4 operations.

Today is a really good opportunity to practise any times tables you are less confident with.  Remember the tricks we learnt this week!

I would also like you to write a set of instructions, ready for our next DT lesson, detailing exactly how you intend to make your musical instruments.

Enjoy the snow – be careful!!!

Miss Clifton 🙂

Good work winners 7.12.12

Congratulations this week to Reece and Aron.

Reece has impressed me with his knowledge of converting fractions into decimals.  He can convert 1/4,  1/2,  1/10,  3/4,  1/3 and 1/5!

Well done Reece  🙂

Aron is a star pupil! He always has excellent behaviour and consistently produces work of a very high standard in ALL subjects.  Keep it up Aron! 🙂
